REQUEST

A luxurious corporate profile

The Swiss Inside project embodies a perfect balance between sophistication and innovation, creating an artwork that celebrates the art of printing and binding. The assignment was to create an exclusive volume for the launch of Victorinox watches on the Italian market, a catalogue that reflects the elegance of the brand.

DEVELOPMENT

A manual with that certain something

To fulfil this requirement, we selected four types of paper of the highest quality. Then it was on to the binding technique and the internal printing in five colours. This project is not just a catalogue, but a sensory experience that reflects the quintessence of Swiss luxury.

Ecological and sustainable materials

MATERIALS

Eco-friendly papers

The four types of paper of the highest quality are: coated paper for the flyleaves, brown Havana paper for the first pages, coated paper for the centre block where the competition signs were collected, and finally 40 g/m² ‘Bible paper’ for the last part. The cover of the volume is a masterpiece of design, made from a mixture of red Splendorlux paper, laminated with 3 mm rough cardboard and covered with a Pantone-printed flyleaf.

TECHNIQUE

Laser cutting

The binding technique is first class: The tape block is tied with Bodoni thread stitching and a one-colour pad-printed fabric on the spine, while the cover is laser-punched. The interior is printed in five colours, using a combination of four-colour printing and red Victorinox Pantone, with photographs printed in glossy UV screen printing, enhancing each image. The final sixteenth, printed on 40gsm Bible paper, has an ivory reverse to minimise the transparency effect and ensure a visually flawless result.
